Acer unveils new smartphone & tablet

Acer is using this week’s IFA 2013 event to showcase its Liquid S2 smartphone, the company’s first device to support 4K video recording, and its Inconia A3 Android tablet with an “enhanced cinematic experience”.

In addition to its 4K capabilities, Liquid S2 is actually a well-specified phablet. It has a 6-inch full HD screen, and is said to be “the world’s first smartphone with dual speakers powered by Dolby Digital Plus for a stunning sound experience”.

It also has LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac support, the newest form of the Wi-Fi standard.

In addition, the 10.1-inch Iconia A3 includes Dolby Digital Plus support, and has a WXGA (1280×800 screen).

It is powered by a quadcore 1.2GHz processor, and is said to deliver “11 hours of smooth HD video playback, better mobile gaming, as well as fluid and fast navigation through apps and websites”.
