Deutsche Telekom brought together its international and German wholesale operations under a single entity, a move to streamline its offering and meet customer demand for integrated services.
The restructure combines Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier with German business Telekom Deutschland Wholesale. It will operate the consolidated business under the T Wholesale brand.
Deutsche Telekom noted the new division would use “local expertise” and “extensive international knowledge” to offer “comprehensive support for issues such as cross-border developments, market-specific regulations, or access at both regional and global levels”.
T Wholesale MD Kerstin Baumgart added partners and customers would “benefit from our international focus and the synergies that will allow us to better meet the challenges of a rapidly changing market”, adding it would create a “seamless” experience for them.
The operator noted the move underlined the importance of its wholesale segment and equips it to address the “growing trend of internationalisation”.
Alongside existing product lines previously offered under the two entities, the new division plans to work on “advancements in digital communication, artificial intelligence, network APIs”, standalone 5G, “edge cloud and strategic partnerships to accelerate future innovation”.
