iPhone 6 output to hit 50M this year – Taiwan suppliers
Apple suppliers Pegatron Technology and Foxconn Electronics each forecast shipping nearly 25 million iPhone 6 units this year – bringing total expected output of the iPhone 6 (not including the Plus) to 50 million units.

DigiTimes reports that the increase in business is expected to boost Pegatron’s Q4 revenue to a record TWD290 billion (US$9.5 billion).

Bangladesh plans 700MHz auction in 2016
Bangladesh’s telecoms regulator plans to auction a minimum of 25MHz in the 700MHz band by 2016.

The Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission’s (BTRC) original three-year roadmap, which it released last year, has been moved forward to this year, but it is not yet finalised, the Dhaka Tribune said. The BTRC said it needs to meet with officials from the telecoms ministry and industry stakeholders.

The country auctioned 2.1GHz spectrum last September.

NCC approves Asia Pacific Telecom 4G licence
Asia Pacific Telecom plans to launch 4G service by the end of the year in the 700MHz band after Taiwan’s National Communications Commission approved its 4G licence on Wednesday.

The company, which is in the process of merging with Ambit Microsystems, is now the country’s fifth 4G player and has six months to offer 4G service. Ambit is a unit of Hon Hai Precision (better know as Foxconn), which brought a 15 per cent interest in Asia Pacific Telecom in May.

India’s Jio awards $10M OSS deal to Ericsson
India’s Reliance Jio Infocomm has selected Ericsson for a $10 million, three-year contract that covers service fulfillment and inventory control. The OSS portfolio is provided by Telcordia, which Ericsson acquired in 2012.

Jio, which has a pan-India 4G licence, plans to launch 4G services next March.
