Qualcomm Ventures, Qualcomm’s investment unit, will invest about KRW9 billion ($83 million) in South Korean startup Job Planet – its ninth investment in a Korean startup.

The US-based chip manufacturer, together with two venture capitalists — Altos Ventures and BonAngles – will make the investment in the company that operates a platform that aims to make corporate information more accessible to people looking for jobs, the Korea Times reported.

The service was launched last April and now has about 350,000 reviews of firms and details on the salary levels at 20,000 companies in Korea. It has more than three million monthly visitors.

Job Planet CEO Hwang Hee-seung said it is looking to expand into Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Qualcomm said last month it would invest $40 million in four Chinese mobile technology companies via its $150 million China strategic venture fund.
