Russian web search company Yandex said its Wonder social networking search app for iOS devices has been blocked by Facebook.

The app allows US mobile users to retrieve information from social network sites — including Facebook, Instagram, Foursquare and Twitter — by inputting questions by voice or text.

Wonder was blocked by Facebook three hours after its launch last week, a Yandex spokesman told Reuters, adding that talks with the social network to establish why this happened were due to take place.

TechCrunch reports that the Wonder app is still able to access the data of Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, as well as Twitter and Foursquare.

Facebook has made efforts to protect its data and recently told voice messaging startup Voxer that it would cut off its app’s access to Facebook’s “Find Friend” data, due to its data policy.
