Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, said that there are now four times as many apps for tablets running Windows RT as there were when the first devices were launched in October, reports Bloomberg.

Speaking at CES 2013, Ballmer said that 10,000 new titles were launched for Windows RT tablet devices in December alone.

He also said apps from the likes of Twitter, Dropbox, Time Warner and CNN are all in the pipeline for Windows RT.

Apple said this week that there are now more than 300,000 native apps available for its iPad tablet in its App Store.
