London-based MindLink, which describes its app as “a secure alternative to WhatsApp designed for business use”, raised $1 million in funding to “boost its aggressive expansion plans predominantly within the financial services vertical and beyond”.

The app offers encryption and multi-factor authentication. CEO Justin Forrest explained that MindLink “is more than just ‘team messaging’, it is about connecting the entire firm in an efficient, secure and compliant manner”.

“It is now time that we take MindLink to the next level,” he added.

The new funding will help the firm to accelerate its growth plans, including more extensive sales and marketing activities, improved support of its global customer base, investment in building a strong reseller channel, and expanding its engineering capabilities, it said in a statement.

MindLink said its chat tools are popular in many industries where there is a need for secure and compliant messaging tools, such as financial services, pharmaceuticals and law.
