Tier-two operator US Cellular inked a deal with Amazon which will see its subscribers able to access a “specially curated app menu” in the Amazon Appstore for Android, claiming to be the first and only company to offer this capability.

When accessing the store, consumers will be presented with a US Cellular tab, which details apps that have been pre-selected and approved by the operator. It includes content from categories including games, business tools, and social media, with additional apps added on a regular basis.

Several operators already offer custom app selections via Google’s Android Market.

US Cellular is preloading the Amazon Appstore on many of its Android devices, alongside other Amazon apps including Kindle for Android, Amazon Mobile and Amazon MP3.
