Twitter launched a new app for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Microsoft’s Xbox One, offering access to live streaming videos that are available on Twitter.

Other content such as top tweets and top global Vines and Periscopes will also be included.

Users of these devices will be able to access the features without having a Twitter account or a pay TV subscription. This include content from NBA and Bloomberg News.

And exclusively for Apple TV, users can watch live premium video alongside Tweeted video clips, through a “seamless side-by-side video experience”.

According to Anthony Noto, Twitter CFO: “Twitter has always been a great complement to TV, and now fans can enjoy even more premium video with live Tweets — and the best content on Twitter — right from their TVs. We’re excited to introduce this new experience to people, without requiring a paywall or having to log in to Twitter.”

Twitter has been struggling with lagging growth in its user base.
