Twitter launched a free iOS app called Dashboard, a tool to help small businesses connect with their customers and community.

Just last week, Twitter came out with an iOS “companion app” that provides real-time data and insights, allowing businesses to understand, engage, and grow their audiences.

Now, Dashboard gives business owners a clearer picture of what’s being said about their businesses, lets them schedule Tweets, and offers insights about their Tweet performance, the firm said.

It explained that it wanted to help small enterprises, who don’t typically have the advantage of sophisticated tools provided by Twitter ecosystem partners that larger businesses do.

Dashboard can help firms engage with their audience by creating a custom feed to find out what’s being said about their business.

“The ability to see these Tweets at a glance offers endless opportunities for you to connect with customers and potential customers with responses that add value,” it said.

Tweets can also be scheduled and the iOS Dashboard app can be used to update the Tweet queue.

Dashboard has a desktop version, but is not yet on Android.

As Twitter, which has yet to post a profit, struggles to increase its user base, it is also trying to show businesses how they can benefit from the social network.
