Games maker Square Enix is to open mobile development studios in India and Mexico, according to a report by GamesIndustry International.

It was suggested the company is looking to break into the two emerging markets with bespoke content for the regions.

A statement from the company said the offices have been set up in two markets it believes have “good potential” and where it is looking to secure early entry.

The amount invested in the office or the number of staff is now known.

The large population size of India gives it huge potential for growth while South American markets Colombia, Venezuela and Chile are growing fast.
