The South Korean government has lifted a ban on Apple offering iPhone games through its local App Store, reports the Next Web. The games were blocked due to concerns by the country’s Game Ratings Board about the content of games.

Many users opened US or international iTunes accounts to get around the issue but can now use their own Korea-based store. As well as users, the block also caused problems for South Korean game developers who felt the government was holding the industry back.

The news comes after South Korea’s two largest operators SK Telecom and KT said they would release the iPhone 4S on 11 November with consumer able to pre-order the device from Friday.
