SAP launches enterprise app store

09 NOV 2011

SAP launched an enterprise app store, accompanied by a range of new enterprise apps for Android, BlackBerry, iOS and Windows Mobile, built on the company's Sybase Unwired mobile platform.

It is currently offering a web version of SAP Store for mobile apps, as well as an on-device version for iOS devices. An on-device version for Android, BlackBerry and other mobile operating systems is in the pipeline.

Apps available will include a mixture of SAP and third-party apps from within the SAP partner ecosystem, with the company expecting around 80 percent of titles to come from partners.

SAP's new apps are designed for mobile workers in a range of different industries and job functions, and can be downloaded for evaluation before businesses decide to buy them. Organisations can also directly request quotes for deploying the apps across their organisation.

Products are available for healthcare, field sales and service, logistics and e-government markets.
