Security company RSA announced a service designed to enable organisations to detect and take action against rogue mobile apps which attempt to serve up malware or phishing attacks.

The company said that FraudAction Anti Rogue App Service combines “the industry’s most experienced anti-fraud experts” with a “proven, proprietary threat-detection infrastructure”.

The service helps organisations discover fraudulent mobile apps which use customer brands to “infect end users or steal credentials”—the company cited research which found that 86 percent of all Android malware is actually repackaged versions of legitimate apps, but with malicious payloads.”

RSA also said it “provides comprehensive app store monitoring for all major app stores”, and is available immediately.

RSA is the security division of enterprise computing company EMC.
