Google is set to launch an app store for its Google Glass product, according to reports.

With the product still in a developer preview stage, so far there is no centralised portal for users to download apps.

But VentureBeat said that developers are “being asked to write Glass apps of all kinds, and investors are all too eager to fund their development”.

The speculation was initiated following a reference to a “Glass Boutique” being included in the latest software release for the device, although there was no actual code related to this.

SlashGear also said that Glass will gain support for native apps in the future. Currently, the only option is for web-based apps, using an API to interact with the hardware.
