CapitalVue said that China Mobile’s app store, Mobile Market, now has more than 70,000 apps available, with its registered developer total having passed two million. According to the report, which cites figures published by Chinese website 163.com, the site also has 80 million registered users, with its cumulative download total having passed 360 million.

In March 2011, China Mobile said that it had a catalogue of 50,000 apps, with 1.1 million registered developers, 35 million registered customers, and 110 million app downloads made – indicating a sharp increase in momentum across-the-board for Mobile Market.

According to a report from Marbridge Daily last week, China Mobile has unified the management of Mobile Market with its Monternet WAP portal, Fetion mobile IM software, and 139.com micro blogging service under its Guangdong Mobile arm. This unit was responsible for the development of Mobile Market, and is also home of China Mobile’s Southern base, which the report says gives it “space and facilities” to accommodate the various value added services businesses.
