Qualcomm demonstrated a raft of augmented reality (AR) apps at its IQ 2010 event in London last week, reports ZDNet. The company says it is working with a number of academic institutions to further its research in AR and that it has already established AR gaming studios at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Qualcomm has also created the ‘Augmented Reality Developer Challenge’ to try and encourage developers to work on new apps, offering a total of US$200,000 in prize money.
