Social games company PlaySpace announced “the start of its mobile gaming strategy”, with the launch of the iOS version of the board game Parchis.

The company, which focuses on Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets, said it expects to launch more games for iOS in the coming months and, in 2013, will start developing games for Android.

Parchis was launched by PlaySpace for Facebook and Tuenti, and is played daily by “thousands of worldwide users” – it is most popular in countries such as Spain, Chile and Colombia.

Alfonso Villar, CEO of PlaySpace, said: “The trial version of Parchis iOS already positioned the game in the Top 10 in the App Store, we are confident that the full international launch will be a success.”
