Mobile social gaming company PlayPhone announced that operator Claro Brazil had launched Ideias Social Games – the first Latin American extension of its network.

It said that the service enables users to “seamlessly connect to PlayPhone’s social gaming network and play popular games from around the world”. Gamers can play free or premium games, supported by an operator-billed virtual currency called Claro Credits.

The social gaming company said it is “currently experiencing rapid growth”, including recently announced operator partnerships with AT&T and Verizon in the US and Rogers in Canada, and with “additional carrier announcements coming soon”.

PlayPhone said that it offers operators “an end-to-end premiere mobile social gaming solution with customised carrier games stores and the most technologically advanced global gaming network”.

Ron Czerny, founder and CEO, said: “We’ve made it easy for game developers to integrate their games with PlayPhone, ensuring an ongoing pipeline of the best and most popular social games.”
