Social networking app Path announced that it will be one of the first apps available on Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smart watch, which was launched yesterday. Users will be able to share photos, enter updates and post their location using the Galaxy Gear.

“Working with the new form factor and screen dimensions proved challenging, but we think the conscious decisions we made about what features to include will set Path apart,” said Ray Ho, senior Android engineer at Path.

Path also provided details of a partnership with Deutsche Telekom which will see the app pre-loaded onto devices offered by the operator in Germany. Path will be available on the HTC G3, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and X Cover 2 devices.

In addition, German customers will be given a year’s free access to the Path Premium service, normally priced at $14.99. As part of the 3.2 update of Path, the Premium version provides unlimited access to sticker packs, adds camera filters and removes adverts.

The 3.2 update also includes Private Sharing, which allows users to choose who they share updates with, and Inner Circle, a list of close contacts with whom you can choose to share certain content.

Path is available for Android and iOS and has more than 20 million users in 163 countries.
