Scandinavian mobile app company Numo announced “compelling results from its first trials of in-app advertising,” stating that after “trialling different solutions” it saw a click-through rate above 35 percent. The company said that its most efficient campaign was conducted in co-operation with Opera Software, where ads for the Opera browser were integrated into Numo products. The company said that its results “show that a smart ad that is correctly presented in the right application is a very cost effective way of spending marketing money.”

Earlier this month, Numo said that it has passed the 3.5 million registered user total – up from three million in December 2010, and 2.5 million in August 2010. Its product line includes Numo Finder, which provides customers with an interactive global phonebook, including information such as mobile number, name, place or maps, and Autosync, a content back-up solution available for Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Java devices.
