Nokia has launched a website aimed at driving the creation of innovative Windows Phone apps.

Called Code Warrior, it allows Windows Phone users to propose ideas for new apps and vote for them. These then appear on the Bounty Board and developers have the opportunity to build the best app to meet the challenges set by the users.

Developers can earn points, Windows Phone devices or cash, depending on the importance users place on the original idea via the Bounty Board.

There will also be a 14-city hackathon tour to support the Code Warrior initiative with 1,400 devices being offered as prizes.

The first hackathon is in Houston, Texas on 10 May, with the winning developer in line to win a US$500 gift card and Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone smartphone.
