Messaging app provider Nimbuzz formed a partnership that will see it targeting subscribers of the Sri Lankan operator division of Hutchison Whampoa.

The Nimbuzz service will be available for free to all Hutch subscribers for a period of six months, starting this month (June 2013).

Nimbuzz has around 150 million users and is experiencing growth in South Asia. It recently partnered with India’s Aircel and Pakistan operator Mobilink, for which it provides a discounted Nimbuzz Bundle to allow unlimited usage of the app.

Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka CEO, Thirukumar Nadarasa, said the company is committed to creating the “highest value offering” for end users and that the partnership with Nimbuzz makes communication more affordable and convenient.
