Mobile social games company ngmoco opened a “Sandbox” environment for developers using its ngCore development engine, allowing them to test the features of its Mobage platform, which it is in the process of rolling-out internationally. According to the company, Mobage provides developers with a “suite of features” to enhance games, including a shared currency, a virtual goods bank system, payment API, advertising management, and analytics tools. The ngCore development engine is a native-level performance development SDK which allows quick JavaScript-based development. It said that “making games powered by ngCore allows developers to release games across devices and regions.”

In a statement, ngmoco said that “many high-profile developers covering the entire breadth of the mobile, casual and social game development communities have already jumped on board with ngCore and Mobage,” and it promised “a series of major game announcements in the coming weeks.” Simon Jeffery, Chief Publishing Officer of ngmoco, said that: “The Mobage launch is right around the corner and we’re giving developers the tools to be ready. The combination of the ngCore engine and Mobage platform will empower developers to quickly and easily innovate, delivering compelling social and mobile games to market faster than ever before.”

ngmoco is a subsidiary of Japanese social gaming company DeNA, and was acquired to drive Mobage globally.
