MTN launches NextApps store in Nigeria

04 JUL 2013

Nigerian mobile operator MTN launched its NextApps store, powered by white-label app store company Nexva.

It offers a catalogue of free and premium apps and is initially available for Android smartphones. It supports “one-click” billing, enabling MTN customers to purchase apps via prepaid credit or their phone bill.

Larry Annetts, CMO of MTN Nigeria, said: “Our choice of Nexva to deploy the MTN Nigeria NextApps Store was informed by its robust technology platform and their internal team that is able to customise and localise the offering of the applications to suit our customers in Nigeria. This, for us, is a key success factor for the NextApps Store.”

MTN is the biggest operator in Nigeria, with more than 43 million connections.
