Movistar, the Spanish mobile arm of Telefonica, announced the launch of operator billing for apps bought from BlackBerry App World, supported by the launch of a new channel in the store containing “a range of useful and interesting” apps supported by Movistar.

The move follows a partnership between the Europe and Latin America operator group and RIM, announced in June 2012. The intention is to rollout similar capabilities across App World, Microsoft’s Windows Store and Google’s Play Store, in 14 markets by the end of the year.

Customers will need to enter their BlackBerry App World password when making purchases, and in-app purchases can also be added to operator bills.
