The mobile apps analytics sector just became more cutthroat with the arrival of Italian startup Mopapp, which touts itself as offering services that are “cross-store and cross-platform.” Borne out of mobile app developer AnguriaLab, Mopapp says it integrates with “most major stores” (specifically, Apple’s iTunes, Google’s Android Market, RIM’s App World, Handango and MobiHand, at present) and allows developers and companies that create apps for multiple platforms to “easily compare sales by store, platform, application, country and more.”

Last week the company announced the availability of its free public beta, following two months of private beta. Mopapp is currently offering free subscription to its ‘Professional Plan’; at the end of the beta users will have the option to downgrade to the Community Free Plan, or keep using the Pro plan by subscribing to it (no pricing has yet been revealed). Developers can schedule to receive sales reports via email on a weekly or monthly basis.

The company’s name is derived from the term ‘Measures Of Performances for APPlicationS’ and is headed up by Alessandro Rizzoli (co-founder and CEO).  Mopapp cites AppFigures, Distimo, Heartbeat and TapMetrics as competitors, but claims to be able to differentiate itself from all its rivals. In addition, the company has launched native iPhone and Android apps that can be used to check sales of the last period while on the go. The company’s software also doesn’t rely on use of Flash and supports user reviews and comments. Meanwhile developers for stores not currently supported by Mopapp can use the company’s API to import and analyse sales coming from any source and for any platform.
