Saudi Arabia’s second-largest operator Mobily has set up a project to help developers build mobile applications and software that support Arabic content.

The program, dubbed ‘Mobily Developers Forum’ (MDF), aims to encourage the development of quality apps for smartphones running operating systems from Apple, Google, Symbian, RIM and Microsoft.

Mobily is targeting professional and hobby developers, as well as software companies, to take part in the project. A website for developers has been established here.

Mobily promises to take on the task of publicising developers’ apps in return for their creative efforts.
