App management player MobileIron introduced two products to create what it calls “personas” on devices, separating corporate and personal data.

The persona includes all of the business-related apps and data associated with a specific user, with access managed through policies set by IT departments.

With mobile apps running on employee-owned devices become more common, there is a growing need to separate personal and work-related apps and data.

MobileIron AppConnect seperates enterprise app data stored on a device from personal apps, and is also the software that is used to create the personas.

MobileIron AppTunnel, meanwhile, provides tunnelling and access control to protect app data as it moves to and from data stores behind business firewalls.

The technology works on major operating systems including Android and iOS can encompass internal and third-party apps.
