Microsoft launched an Android version of its Office Mobile app, just weeks after unveiling the iPhone version.

Office Mobile requires a subscription to Microsoft’s Office 365, a cloud-based version of its productivity tools that included Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Like the iPhone version, the app allows users to access, view and edit documents which keep the appearance of the original versions, through support for charts, animations and SmartArt graphics and shapes.

Users access documents that are stored on Microsoft’s cloud storage products, SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint. They can also view and edit Office documents attached to email messages.

The app is compatible with Android 4.0 and above.
