Microsoft is ending support for six Lumia-branded apps to “sharpen focus” on its core Windows 10 camera and photo apps.

Lumia Storyteller, Lumia Beamer, Photobeamer and Lumia Refocus will no longer have their online service components available and will not be updated after 30 October, while Lumia Panorama and Video Uploader will continue to work but will not receive updates or support.

The apps will be removed from the Windows Phone Store with immediate effect, but if users already have them installed, they will not be removed from their device, Microsoft said in a blog post.

“When the Nokia Devices & Services business joined Microsoft last year, we began working on a unified camera and photos experience that combines the best ideas and innovations from both companies,” the post added.

Microsoft has unified its mobile and desktop stores as part of the new look Windows Store but it is still unclear when Windows 10 for phones will be out.

When the company announced availability of Windows 10 for PCs and tablets, it kept its powder dry on plans for the platform in the mobile phone space.
