Australian digital content company MIA has announced a deal with UK-based content deployment and management company Metaflow to create a new mobile app distribution network.

Developers sign up to use the network through the Metaflow ARK Connection Hub, from where they can distribute apps. Products will then be made discoverable through MIA’s range of affiliated networks in Australia, including Motorola Android devices and content portals for Boost, Optus, Telstra and Virgin.

Metaflow's global network will also be used to distribute content.

MIA expects the five million downloads currently made each month to increase significantly as a result of the deal. “Metaflow is already used by many of our direct content partners, so it made sense to partner with them and be part of a single delivery collaborative hub," MIA COO Jon Mooney said.

"MIA has an excellent presence in the region, with strong alliances. Together, we can offer innovative developers a simple way to connect, with the biggest distribution partners in the world using a stock once, deliver everywhere approach," Metaflow CEO Charles McLeod added.

MIA has also signed a content partner deal to bring MetaConnect’s games catalogue to sites it manages via the Metaflow ARK hub.
