Smartphone app monetisation platform metaps secured an additional US$1.3 million in Series A funding, adding to the US$4.2 million it raised in December last year.

The Japan-based company plans to use the money to establish offices in China, the US and Europe in the next six months, and to expand the number of staff at its Singapore subsidiary. The new offices will allow the company to connect with developers and partners and coordinate activities across the regions.

The metaps platform provides a way for developers to generate revenue through cost-per-install  promotions or reward ads, which reward users for actions such as downloads or registrations related to the ads.

The business is aiming to grow its global market share, with particular focus on Asia, where it intends to make metaps the number one monetisation platform within the next year. Through various partnerships, the network will soon be promoting apps in more than 25 countries.

The latest round of funding was from venture capital firms Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Sansei Capital Investment.
