South Korean operator KT is reportedly set to partner China Mobile in the apps market, with the intention of offering its content via a “shop within a shop” from later this week. According to the Korea Herald, KT will initially offer “about 40” applications, which will be increased to 100 by the end of this year. The company is also believed to be set to launch in Japan in partnership with NTT Docomo, from August 2011. As part of its international expansion strategy, it is reportedly set to “join hands with local app developers” to expand their overseas presence.

KT is not the only Korean operator set to expand internationally: it was recently reported that SK Telecom is partnering with China Mobile to launch its apps in the Chinese market, with the intention to open a development centre to help its developer partners expand internationally. It is also looking to launch in Japan.
