Online games company Kongregate announced the first titles to be made available from third-party publishers as part of a $10 million investment fund it announced earlier this year.

In a statement, the company said it is focusing its publishing efforts “primarily on mid- and hard-core titles”, drawing on its “successful history of monetising similar games online”.

According to Pany Haritatos, VP of Mobile for Kongregate: “We have micro level insights into successful game mechanics that can make a huge difference in monetisation and retention. Applying that level of expertise to a mobile launch is essential to launching a successful game.”

The first title to launch will be Synapse Games’ Tyrant: Unleashed (pictured), which will debut this month.

This will be followed by BloodRealm from RedPoint Labs and Making Fun; Sheep Happens from Lingplay: Endless Boss Fight from White Milk Games; and Cardinal Quest 2 from Randomnine.

Additional titles are in the pipeline, and will be announced later this year.
