Kongregate launches $10M mobile games fund

04 FEB 2013

Online game platform Kongregate unveiled its Kongregate Mobile Developers programme, a US$10 million fund to help independent games developers working in the free-to-play space.

The company said that backed by its parent, video games retailer GameStop, it will offer “distribution, financial assistance, consulting services and marketing support” to help developers working in this competitive market.

Leading the effort will be former Zynga exec Pany Haritatos (pictured), who will be VP of Kongregate’s new mobile division.

Among the support options available will be cash advances on qualified games that are already in development; free consultations; a range of “creative services”, and promotion via the GameStop apps.
