Facebook-owned photo-sharing app service Instagram has more than 100 million users across Android and  iOS platforms. The milestone was revealed by Mark Zuckerberg yesterday during his appearance at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco.

"They’re this super-talented bunch of engineers, they just crossed 100 million users,” he said. “They’re just killing it. We want to help them grow to hundreds of millions of users."

The 100 million figure is up from 80 million in July. When Facebook made its US$1 billion bid for the firm in April it had just 30 million users on iOS.
