App developer Handmark launched its OneLouder Apps subsidiary, which it said is “focused on creating a whole new breakthrough category of social apps across major mobile platforms to provide consumers with a more personalised and enjoyable mobile experience.” In addition to including its social apps activities, OneLouder also includes Handmark’s mobile ad services activities. OneLouder’s first products include “two of the world’s most successful and highest-rated social apps,” TweetCaster for Twitter and FriendCaster for Facebook, which are said to “provide a strong base of millions of users on the Android and Apple iOS platforms.”

According to the company, OneLouder will continue to evolve TweetCaster and FriendCaster, to offer “unique new capabilities” as well as expanding their availability across device platforms. Expected launches include TweetCaster for BlackBerry, iPad, Symbian OS and bada; FriendCaster 2.0 for iPad; FriendCaster Chat for Android, and a newly designed FriendCaster for Android tablets. The company’s roadmap includes “a suite of exciting new products that address entertainment sectors consumers crave, including sports.”

OneLouder Apps is being headed by Evan Conway as president, who has moved to the business from his position of EVP of marketing and product development at the parent company. Mobile Apps Briefing spoke to Conway about the company’s plans last year. In a statement, he said: “with apps that have the amazing ability to comb through social and digital sources and deliver hyper-targeted information direct to the mobile device, OneLouder will bring to consumers the most engaging way to enjoy mobile content.”
