Japan-based social gaming company GREE is to invest a total of $10 million to support mobile games developers through its Partners Fund.

The fund will make equity investments of $1 million or more, and is currently considering applications from developers from North and South America.

The programme aims to establish long-term relationships with developers building free-to-play apps and will be run by the company’s VP of publishing and partners, Jim Ying.

GREE will also share its industry knowledge and resources with the developers it partners with, providing access to tools available to its internal studios as well as marketing support.

“The goal is to create long-term partnerships with a small group of top developers whose experience positions them well to create games of exceptional quality from both a game play and revenue perspective, ” said Ying.

The company previously made a $3 million investment in MunkyFun in December.
