GetJar, which describes itself as “the world’s second largest app store, second only to the Apple App Store, with over one billion downloads to date,” has said that mobile security software company NetQin Mobile achieved a “90 percent conversion rate” using GetJar’s pay-per-download services, with nine-out-of-ten customers downloading the product going on to become ‘active users.’

Pay-per-download enables developers to bid for premium catalogue placement in the GetJar store and distribution channels, with the option of targeting customers by country, handset or operator. NetQin apparently opted to work with GetJar in order to “target customers across many countries, devices and operating systems.”

NetQin’s products include mobile antivirus technology, and an app to block unwanted calls and conceal contacts and communications.
