Gamevil acquired fellow South Korea-based game developer and publisher Com2uS as it looks to increase its competitiveness on a global scale.

The former competitors will cooperate on their portfolio strategy and make use of each other’s live service platforms, Gamevil Circle and Com2uS Hub, which provide security, statistics, updates and advertising for games.

Gamevil has seen more than 300 million games downloads and is active in working with third-party developers to bring their title to the Gamevil portfolio.

The company reported record overseas revenue in the second quarter of 2013, and stated that its future strategy will include “aggressive acquisitions, investments and partnership”.

As part of this strategy, Gamevil announced an equity investment in start-up Relax Games in September.
