US number-one operator Verizon Wireless launched Exent’s GameTanium mobile gaming subscription service, in the form of an app for Android devices. For a monthly fee of US$5.99 per device the app provides users with unlimited access to more than 100 smartphone and 50 tablet games.

GameTanium simplifies the process of finding games by allowing users to explore games that have been chosen by Exent’s editorial board. The app shows game information such as parental ratings, imagery and reviews, while gameplay is uninterrupted due to the absence of ads.

“Working with Exent has enabled us to immerse customers into the mobile gaming frontier and ultimately bring high-quality gaming options powered by 4G LTE,” said Verizon Wireless executive director of marketing Kristi Crum.

“We are excited to bring the launch of the GameTanium smartphone and tablet service to Verizon Wireless’ customer base,” Exent CEO and founder Zvi Levgoren added.

The GameTanium app is available on Verizon Apps for more than 30 Android smartphones and two Android tablets. There is a free three-day trial of the app after which customer will be charged if they choose to continue using it.

Mobile Apps Briefing spoke to Exent’s Zvi Levgoren about monetisation, convergence and the power of Android in an exclusive interview earlier this year.
