Facebook for Every Phone, a native app that works on more than 3,000 different types of feature phones, is now being used by more than 100 million people according to the social networking giant.

The app includes Facebook’s most popular features, such as News Feed, Messenger and Photos, as well as the ability to create a new account and find friends.

Ran Makavy, founder of Snaptu, the Israeli company behind the app (and acquired by Facebook in 2011), says Facebook for Every Phone provides “a comprehensive Facebook experience and feels more like a smartphone app”.

“This experience is optimised to use less data than other Java apps and mobile sites, making it more affordable to try and use,” adds Makavay. “We also have partnerships with mobile operators around the world to offer free or discounted data access to Facebook tor Every Phone.”

Snaptu was relaunched as Facebook For Every Phone in July 2011.
