Productivity app maker Evernote signed a deal with Telefonica which will see the operator group’s 250 million mobile customers offered premium services free of charge.

Vivo in Brazil is the first brand to go live with the offer with customers given the option to sign up for free Evernote Premium accounts for one year. Users need to download Evernote on iOS or Android within a limited time to redeem.

Evernote allows users to create and upload written notes, to-do lists and photos that can then be synced across several personal devices. The Premium version includes a higher monthly upload limit of 1GB, the ability to read notes offline and more sharing and security options.

“By starting our partnership in Brazil, we are able to tap into Vivo’s vast mobile market presence and continue Evernote’s incredible growth in this important country,” said Phil Libin, Evernote’s CEO.

Evernote announced a similar deal in Germany with Deutsche Telekom in March. One year of Premium use is normally worth €40.

”Our customers have consistently told us that they desire services that make their life better beyond connectivity.  Evernote does just this, but connects personal and business information in a way that actually makes it useable and findable,” said Wayne Thorsen, VP of Global Partnerships of Telefónica Digital.
