App store analytics firm Distimo has launched a cross-platform service that provides developers with an insight into the distribution and sales of their apps.

AppLink allows developers to create and communicate a single short URL for apps that are available on different mobile platforms, which redirects users to the correct app store when used. AppLink also provides a landing page for apps.

The data can be used to help developers gauge the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and different distribution channels, and also gives users the ability to share apps with their contacts. 


Developers can use AppLink in conjunction with Distimo Monitor, which provides more detailed information on how their apps are doing – such as app downloads, revenue and ranking.

Distimo CEO and co-founder Vincent Hoogsteder said developers currently have a limited insight into their audience and that AppLink “enables developers to dramatically improve their user acquisition strategy – especially when used in combination with the distribution analytics that our Distimo Monitor product already provides across all apps stores and major ad networks”.
