The Application Developers Alliance, a newly-formed industry association intended to “meet the unique needs of application developers,” named its founding board of directors, which includes representatives from Google, RIM and Telefonica’s BlueVia.

In a statement, the body said that the group will “be responsible for guiding the organisation, formally launched 3 Jan 2012, to deliver services to developers and drive innovation and growth within the development industry.”

Since its formation, membership has passed the 4,500 individual developer mark, with 45 corporate members and service sponsors.

The full list of directors also includes representatives from CBS Interactive, Foundry Group, AT&T Interactive, Mobile Deluxe, appMobi, Media Chaperone, The Echo Nest, MEDL Mobile, Apkudo, TMSOFT, Locaid Technologies, DIY Media Services, Rackspace, Woobaa Games and StackExchange.com.
