Professional services giant Deloitte Consulting has acquired the Seattle-based app developer Ubermind for a price reported by Geekwire to be between US$40 million and US$50 million.

According to Ubermind, Deloitte has invested in the company to complement its existing technology services, which include systems integration, enterprise solutions, information management and emerging technologies. Deloitte will now be able to provide clients with mobile apps that “address virtually any digital technology challenge in their business,” according to the Ubermind website.

Ubermind builds apps for companies including retailer Target and added more than 50 staff between June and November last year, according to Geekwire.  “As part of their tech practice, we will lead in strategy, creative, mobile apps, and web”, the company said in a statement regarding the Deloitte sale.

The company said joining Deloitte allows it to be part of something bigger than it could have accomplished on its own. “By combining our creative and technical chops with Deloitte’s global reach, industry insight, and deep talent, we have the ability to make an unmistakable impact in the industry,” it said.
