App performance management player Crittercism launched a new service that allows enterprise IT departments to monitor and manage their mobile apps.

Fathom Mobile Command aims to allow companies to have a complete view of performance through the lifecycle of apps and reports on how third-party services and network conditions affect iOS and Android performance.

The service provides data on factors affecting app performance such as third-party services and APIs that interact with apps, server-side issues and end user activity.

“With multiple APIs, cloud services, carrier networks, geographies and other fragmentation issues, there are simply too many variables for companies and developers to monitor the performance of their apps in a cost effective way,” explained Crittercism CEO Andrew Levy.

“These apps are responsible for critical communications between consumers, customers and employees, and the importance of consistent app performance cannot be understated,” added IDC research analyst Ben Hoffman.
