Marbridge Daily reports that China Mobile and China Unicom are set to expand the number of monetisation options available to developers via their app stores.

Apparently, China Mobile is set to introduce support to include usage and time-based payment options, as well as improving its settlement times with developers.

China Unicom is set to enable app trials, subscriptions and in-app activation fees, alongside the in-app advertising which is already supported.

According to Marbridge, China Mobile is currently conducting 13,000 tests of apps daily for developers looking to launch products. China Unicom, which launched its Wo Store last year, has 6,000 registered developers and offers 16,000 apps.

App analytics firm Flurry recently said that China had seen “astronomical” app growth, becoming the second largest market for smartphone titles after the US.
