Concord Medical Services, which claims to operate the largest network of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging centers in China, has launched Zhang Shang Chun Yu (DoctorInPocket), a doctor-patient communication and diagnosis application.

Through what Concord Medical calls an easy-to-complete registration process, patients can establish individual relationships with selected doctors. Doctors can be searched for and contacted by name or sorted by departments.

After completing registration, patients can submit health-related questions to their doctors by text, images and voice messages. The app also enables patients to communicate with their doctors by phone at selected time slots during business hours.

Patients have to pay for services but Concord Medical does not disclose what the fees are in its press release.

More functionality, says Concord Medical – “especially for doctors” – will be added, based on test results and feedback from doctors.

The mobile health application is developed by Beijing Yundu Internet Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited.

DoctorInPocket is available on Android while an iOS version has been submitted to the Apple Store for approval.
